Calabria, Callipo resigns: “there are the conditions for work”. Pd: you think back

June 29, 2020

“After a long and very painful reflection, this morning I tendered my resignation from the office of the regional councillor of Calabria, because I realized that, unfortunately, we don’t have conditions to take forward in practice the important mandate that a considerable number of sardinian people have given me”. Announces it in a note, Pippo Callipo, the presidential candidate of the center-at the regional last January, and was defeated, and director of the movement he founded “I’m staying in Calabria”.

“I soon realised that – explain – the rules and principles that order the activities of the regional Council are in fact ‘soft’ in the presence of the established practice over the years, that crush the highest legislative Assembly of calabria, and that clash with my mindset geared to the concrete. The activity of the Council is held, complying with the liturgies policies that prevent the assessment of the issues on which the Meeting is called to express itself, thereby preventing the Board itself, make that service which should be institutionally”.

Graziano: you think back, the Pd will vote against
“Thank you Pippo Callipo for the commitment shown in these months and for the generosity with which he had accepted a challenge geared to change and the redemption of Calabria”. Says the commissioner of the regional Democratic Party of the Calabria, Stefano Graziano. “We take note of the motives that have prompted the resignation but ask him to think again and not to deprive the people of calabria of its action and its concreteness. I will ask the group the Pd to vote against the resignation, and I ask Callipo take up the challenge of the reforms that we will bring into the classroom in the next few months. The group board of the Democratic Party will always be on the side of those fighting for the respect of democratic rules and the protection of the prerogatives of the board to the face of a majority, arrogant and concerned only to the division of the seats”, he concludes.
